You can get your transcript faster if you register online and have a mortgage loan, home equity loan, home equity line of credit, car loan, or credit card. You must also provide your Social Security Number, date of birth, and the address you used on your latest return. You will need access to your email account and a mobile phone in your name so the IRS can verify your identity through Equifax. If you have a credit freeze with Equifax, you must request a temporary freeze lift until you have successfully registered or the IRS won’t be able to verify your identity. Once your identity has been verified, the IRS will email you a code to get your transcript.
Getting your transcript can be a time-consuming and frustrating, but you can avoid the hassle and delay.
As approved professional tax preparers, we don’t need your transcript to file your return.
